B4 u get too excited… COO stands for Capacity Obfuscated Officer. :P :P :P
I’m bleeding. The dark circles around my once radiant n mesmerising (hahahahaha) eyes, hv now grown roots. Look into them n all u’ll see r shadows screaming, “I’m so tired, I wanna cry!” My once sexy (hahahaha again!) back is hunched fr persistent exhaustion n physical stress (I still can’t resist my 40pounders calling “mama, carry me..”).
In exactly 2 mths time, I hv to sit for my Marketing n Stragetic Planning papers. But I think, I’m gonna hv to defer SP; cos I bor lat (no energy).
My typical weekday routine is this: reach home by X.XXpm. Switch on d air purifier/aircond, put d kettle under d tap, do d laundry while d tap is running, come back put d kettle on, vacuum n wipe dust around d hse, pour d boiled water into d flask, take shower, go downstairs pick up kids fr sitters, do homework n play with them, hang d laundry while they play with toys, fold dried laundry, time for kids’ poo poo time, wipe pet pet, wash clean clean, wash baby bottles n water tumblers, make milk for kids, chg them into pyjamas, n put them to bed. Note: “put them to bed” is not like in movies where d parents say, "goodnite darling", switch off d lights n close d door behind 'em. With David n Michael, I hv to lie down with them, let them hold each of my hands. I am not allowed to leave until they r asleep - which takes up to an hour. (I know I’m supposed to train them to sleep on their own, but nvrmind lah, I know for a fact that with boys, this clinginess won’t last for long. Truth is, I love feeling close to them too - while they still let me...)
So by d time, they’re asleep, it’s usually abt 10.30-11pm. I pick up my books, eyes staring at d loads n loads of words n diagrams……… but d brain oredy VERY DEAD. I read pages n pages. But ask me what I read, I go – “wha?!!”
The only times I can really absorb what I’m reading is when I come to d office in d wkends to do some intense data entry (fr book to brain), w/o any distractions. That oso, after I’ve bathed d kids, played with them, feed them lunch, n leave at jes abt their afternoon nap time. But my other problem is, d PC beside me, beckons like Pamela Anderson to d average guy, “chk me out, come”. And once I open up my email, up to a couple of hours of office related work ensues.
Distractions, distractions!
I need help!
Don’t ask me to get a maid, cos I hv no where to put her during wkdays when no one’s home. N there’s not that much of hsework i can delegate anyways. N maids oso cannot be used to help with the “Playing n bonding with kids” part too – most definitely.
Jes tell me, if u can… suggest what kind of supplements I shd take to help improve d efficiency, memory n alertness of my brain/mind. Or whatever smart tips u can offer…. I jes need d “boost” for another 8mths (when I finish all papers) – if I’m lucky.
Come, come. Fire away ur bright ideas! Help me! URGENT!!
leave me a message

Every mth or every week, hah! :P
sigh... yes i'm too long off... can't even hit notes i used to be able to sing. Somemore most of d songs in K these days, i nvr even heard off!! :P
KKWife @ Mon 30-10-06 09:44AM
He he! U do not know the meaning of "celebrate the K way" ??? Aiya, you're too long off the circuit. U used to do it once, remember, and almost ev'ry month with us? Heritage...RBox..ring a bell ??!!
Kusanagi: Aiyo! So kherlian! U must b really bummed. :(
Blindfolded: Dat's a lot of AR! :P I'll start with item 3n6, n of cos the yummy recipe!! Ur rite, "yonn" is very needed for me!!! TQ so much! [I'll leave d chopping n koreking to the chef of d hse. :P
gnap: glad to know tat u got the energy to kill 9 tigers now ... :)
Blindfolded @ Thu 19-10-06 01:52PM
Updates:
- "Pau sam" - 2 slices are enough. No need "tin chat" nor seasoning (you'll thirst to death or your nose will bleed... :-P)
- Chicken - skinned kampung chicken. Small one will do. Chop of head, neck, leg and tail (:-P), and korek all the internal organs (:-P :-P)
- Duration for "dann" - 2-3 hours.
Blindfolded (on behalf) @ Thu 19-10-06 11:43AM
Eh… missed out something…
Kusanagi is mindful to suggest snow fungus and red dates soup… “yonn” in Cantonese… If affordable, try “suet gaap” (Cantonese also)…
I would suggest another remedy to enhance your attention and alertness… homemade chicken essence… put herbs (“pau sum”, “tin chat” or something… lemme find out from my mom) into a bog bowl, together with some seasoning (will ask my mom on that also), cover the bowl (not to the rim but leave some space), then put chopped chicken (small one) onto the cover… put the bowl + ingredients into a wok filled with water, cover the wok, and boil the water… this process called “dann” (Cantonese)… the steam will get condensed on the cover, and soak the chopped chicken… then the essence will flow into the bowl and mixed with the essence of the herbs and boil… :-P
The chicken meat and bones, can be recycled to “ngau” chicken soup for your darling, king and archangel… :-P

Just my brainstormed ideas... :-)
1. Delegate, not to maids, but to your husband. :-P
2. Work from home (may be possible, right?) =P
3. Avoid work during weekends... switch off your Outlook.
4. Follow your colleague to yoga class. :-P
5. Jam... (since you know music)
6. Pray... Psalm 92 is a good nighttime prayer
7. Try to justify someone to report directly to you, then delegate. :-P
8. Get help from your kids classmates’ parents... organize with them to take turns fetching kids and carpooling.
kusanagi @ Thu 19-10-06 09:18AM
gnap: i working for the duration of the holidays lah....no holiday for me...*sniff*
Gnap @ Thu 19-10-06 08:48AM
Erm.. let me correct myself. "Played" more aptly puts it. :P The cool one is my dad. He plays (and teaches) EVERYTHING!!! Truly my DADDY COOL. :) :)
ps: i noticed dis days, every tom, dick n harry plays some kind of instrument. :P It's how good they r that makes d diff. Bet u'll agree. Happy hols, dude.
kusanagi @ Thu 19-10-06 08:39AM
gnap: u play music instruments? Cool!
Gnap @ Thu 19-10-06 08:31AM
Whoa! Y'day I slept at 10pm. Now feel like i can kill 9 tigers!!
For now my kids seem to be rather interested in brass instruments - i suspect it's cos of the pics they saw of me in my teens. But i'm sure they'll chg their minds soon enaf (like i did). Wah, how did u ges my mind is more set on drums nowadays? I'll get help fr my dad. Where else can u get free expert advice for free - huahahaha!! I don't think i need to worry abt diff song interest, cos there's no type of music I don't like. (well mostly).
Celebrate the "K way"?? What's that? Do tell.
Ocean Towers? Yishun? Whoa! U mes take us there this Dec. I want! I want!
Happy holidays to you all too! (Esp to Boundbyhonor) Drive safely. :)
KK @ Wed 18-10-06 11:23PM
Start one kid on piano and another on guitar... then you take drums... you can jam when your kid hit std 6. But then... they may be listening to very very different type of songs like what I found out from mine... we are generation apart, hard to jam when song interest is different. Guess you'll still have to invite us. I am going to Party World with colleague tomorrow to celebrate Deeparaya the K way..hee hee ! Went to True Yoga in Ocean Towers just now (the view is simply fantastic!) and then went to Yishun shopping cum dinner all by myself ... I can feel the holiday coming... hipee ! To all you folks out there, have an amazing long weekend, let your hair down and have fun... don't wait till the song is over !
Gnap @ Wed 18-10-06 06:06PM
Hi there Boundbyhonor, :), OK... d other reason i wanna try finish this by mid next yr is so that when David starts Std 1, i hv my full attention to coach him. Wouldn't it be nice cos then i can start jamming with u guys too! Eerrrgghh... Geram now! (See I'm so greedy. I want everything!!) :P
boundbyhonor @ Wed 18-10-06 10:11AM
Maybe it is self-fulfilling for Gnap. Different people have different "Self-Fulfilling Prophecy". That what makes invidual unique. But I do agree with KK on the point of "why push yourself"? U could do ur MBA, but not to the level that u max urself out. if it's to stressful, then lean back a while. i did and it took me 4 yrs to complete mine due to deferring for 12 months. but i don't mind and i don't make time of completion as a constraint bcoz for me, so long as i live, education and the knowledge and experience it brings is a journey till the day i'm six feet underground... ;)
Gnap @ Wed 18-10-06 10:02AM
Silver Isle: yah. So cham. Hope ur exam so far so good.. :)
Foo: Sounds reasonable. Will try it.
Smurf: Sounds yummy n i like wine. ok then...
KK: Point taken. Ok. I got go gym 1/wk, linedance 1/wk, n hsework oso make me sweat. I'll resume squash next yr. I din do dis MasterOfShit thing for "climb higher" or "earn more $$" cos i'm more than happy where I am. I did it cos it's sponsored (I know this sounds stupid n greedy), n d big guys say it's a reqt for my position. Ges i hv to confess, 1 of d reason why i'm suffering now is cos i enjoyed too much (took it easy n din do any studying) d last few mths, n only pickin up d book now. :P
KK @ Tue 17-10-06 10:49PM
Why are you pushing yourself so hard ? I thought of doing MBA and then I thought what the heck for ... yah I may climb higher, make more money but I could end up shortening my life by over-stretching. I have seen a lot of people work to become terminally ill in my company and at the end of the day, it ain't worth it. Always assume life is short and enjoy it along the way. Postponing enjoyment is not a wise thing to do as many books about life in the bookshop will tell you today. Furthermore, the level of fun for a similar activity e.g. disco or karaoke will not be the same when you are 20, 30, 40 and 50. Build a circle of friends that can help you baby sit and go out once a girl with your hubby to enjoy and rekindle the "flame"..., your do yoga (excellent), hit the gym, etc. Plan for it through support group. Your children will appreciate a healthy and happy mum ! Taking whatever medicine or tonic is a temporary solution and will not really help... many people think they can skip exercising and take the easy way out by consuming pills but you know... no pain no gain and the body is not made that way. Sweating through exercise relief stress, detox and prevent posture denegeration as you age and reduce chances to getting terminal illness.
smurf @ Tue 17-10-06 04:27PM
okay, buy some ginseng wine and drink a small cup every night to boost your energy level....Eu Yan Sang have those some which is quite good...
Note: the ginseng is cultivated though...but i guess it should be good enough...:)
change of ur time-table may help ... instead of study 2hrs before bed ... make it 2hrs in the morning ... get up 2hrs earlier instead ... the brain is fresh and much more active in the morning and u can easily absorb in more stuff.
Studying is cham... I also need help on improving my brain memory. Haha. X_x
Gnap @ Mon 16-10-06 08:43PM
I listen to other women talk abt their kids n hubby, n in comparison, mine oredy does a lot more than most does. I feel guilty asking him to do anymore than he's oredy doin. [He oso gave up an overseas posting bcos of all dis]. Sigh!
Smurf: my prob is not really with the hsework, bcos i like to n want to do it. What I need is help on improving the efficiency of my brain cos I think I'm getting slower n dumber. Sei ler!! :P
Boundbyhonor: my programme is an anti-social one, where no grp projects or networking is reqd. It's almost 100% distance learning n papers r marked 100% in UK. In other words, a lot of mugging n struggling on ur own.
Heard u finished urs oredy!! Wah! Manyak envy lor.
smurf @ Mon 16-10-06 03:46PM
well....take supplements, drink tea and ask your husband to do the rest of the house work lar.....:P
tell him you got to study so 'sek chou' lar....tell him you're going to study no matter what happen and if you don't get good grades and complete the post grad it is going to go on forever....so how?
I'm sure he'll help you out....but if both also super busy...then get a part time maid who only comes in for a few hours to clean your house and cabut once its done...plus it's cheap...RM 40-50 for each session(4 hours).
boundbyhonor @ Mon 16-10-06 03:01PM
well...i don't quite believe in equal separation of duty...at times, one must sacrifice more for another, and at other times, the total opposite...i think if we are living with our other half, we ought to make available our resources in time of need as to the extent necessary for a better life.
On another perspective, don't push urself too hard on the studying. Constant study 2 hrs per day just before sleeping should be sufficient for postgrad since ur success in getting good grades will eventually be 80% networking and good relation, and 20% study. ;op
Gnap @ Mon 16-10-06 02:51PM
Thx, Mike. Sounds good, esp d "require min time" part. Will drop u a mail.
Kusanagi: Will try that too. Arigato gozaimasu. :)
CC: :P
KKWife: edited... :P He cooks, does d dishes n mktg. My biggest prob is indeed my slowing-down mind contributed by d age n overworked factors. Ur rite, it is hard to switch fr semi-slumber mode to study mode. Blur blur...
KKWife @ Mon 16-10-06 02:43PM
I think if u split the hse work a little bit, then u can also share your eyebags with him!! U are trying to be a superwoman. & if i have to take one hr to put my kids to sleep, I would be the first one to fall asleep...that's why i dare not even think about doing my postgrad studies.
CC @ Mon 16-10-06 12:47PM
Hire the maid, a pretty maid, you can leave for my dad over the weekend. My dad will bring her to my new apartment to clean up...Isn't this a beautiful idea?
Cheers!
kusanagi @ Mon 16-10-06 07:42AM
i am no doctor, but what I can suggest is snow fungus and red dates soup, it helps especially with tired eyes like mine. I get lethargic very often, so these suppliments had been keeping me alive....:P
have u heard of 经络312? not direct sale, not food supplement, and definitely not ogawa or osim horse riding thingy. Its a routine exercise which requires minimum time that makes you stronger, healthier physically and mentally. It has been PROVEN 100% effective.
drop me a mail before tuesday (coming to pg) if u have never seen it and wish to know more. I can burn full VCD instructions for you and off cos, they are all free.
it will surely help you as your post sounded so tiring.
