How do u describe the feeling of perpetual anger, frustration and being unable to do anything about something that really pisses u off ??!!
See the attached pictures of how bad the haze condition is.
Our entire office is full of sick ppl - coughing, having bad inflamed throat, nose allergies ... n whatever else.
My older son, has been having an inflamed throat and fever for a week now. My younger son just started developing the same symptoms. I've been feeling quite under the weather too, with an irritable throat the past 2 days. Drinking 2 huge mugs of HorYanHor yesterday saved me!! (try it - you all)
At least we have aircon and air purifiers at home, and we can avoid the full bad effects of the haze by staying home and shutting all the windows and doors. We also don't have to be outdoors when we work in an airconditioned office environment. (Tho we need to dash fr car to inside buildings, or hold our breathe).
BUT what about those who live in the village (kampung)? Or those who have to work in the open, such as the construction sites? The traffic policemen, the fishermen, planters, trishaw pedlars.... ? Life must be hell for these people.
Isn't anybody with power doing anything useful, or AT ALL, to stop this blardy forest burning in Indonesia ??!!

i don't think 1 or 2 tiny, puny farmers would cause the amount of smoke that eventually cloud the entire country like malaysia....those big coporations who owns hundreds acres of land are the culprits...i think getting an ionizer is a good idea....air conditioning system have that too nowadays...

Wah! I was out today (emergency leave to take son see doc. N oso to rest after wkend overtime taking care of 2 ill kiddos), came back to c u all havin party below. :)
Looks like the north wind has come as Blindfolded predicted, n must hv blown d haze away, hopefully back where it came fr. The sky is indeed clearer when i looked out d balcony just now.
Sometime ago, some reports stated dat some of d culprits are actually M'sian plantation owners in Indonesia. Dunno true or not. If true - war bor lat gong liao!
As for d air purifier. I dunno much lah. But d one i use is the Sharp Plasmacluster. Costs abt RM1200. Quite good kuar, cos my kids breathe "smooth" when they sleep since we got it. N don't wake up with blocked nose anymore. ;)
just bcos of one or two irresponsible indo farmers, we shd not blame the whole nation ...

one way to stop the burning ... burn the whole indonesia!!! hahahah kidding ... well, the only way to stop it is we politely ask them to stop it or we shower them. They happoly invited the fire and it's affecting the neighbouring country. Although they say they're doing something about it but it is happening every year and when things recur, they are not doing anything.
I agree with the air-purifier idea... I'll go get one asap.. KL is so badly hit that it feels "cloudy" the whole day! The air looked yellowish... :(

Holding breathe is one thing... Having other infections like conjunctivitis, boils (if you remember one of the 10 Egyptian plagues), hypertension, headache, bla bla is another.
Heard from the radio this morning: Indonesia denies helps from Malaysia and Singapore. Damn them. I'd suggest putting artificial rain over our earth instead. The wind is going to change direction in few weeks time. Then they'll know...
No wonder disasters always hit them - I say they reap what they sow. If we could all file a court case to teh Federal Court, or even up to UN, against Indonesia.
